I had so much fun today, my boyfriend borrowed a car and we went to the library to the $5 bag booksale. They gave me a pretty large bag and I found 13 books I was interested in that fit into the bag, after that it was stuffed! I’ll list the books here:
Calculating God by Robert J Sawyer
The Cold Millions by Jess Walter
Run Away by Harlan Coben
Cell by Stephen King
The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes
Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark T Sullivan
Memories of Midnight by Sidney Sheldon
Blue Moon by Wendy Corsi Staub
A Dark Matter by Peter Straub
Statue of Limitations by Tamar Myers
Eternity Road by Jack McDevitt
Full Wolf Moon by Lincoln Child
Invasion of Other Gods by David Jeremiah
A few facts about this list and me – the only one I’ve read already is Full Wolf Moon, and I grabbed that one because it was a 5 star read for me. Both Blue Moon and Memories of Midnight turn out to be book 2 in a series, so I’ll try to get or read book 1 of the series first. Calculating God it turns out was on my first page of Want to Read books long ago and I pretty much forgot about it. But now I have it! The Cold Millions, I read the first few sentences there at the library, and it turns out it takes place in my local area. I saw “Spokane” and I was like, whoa! A Dark Matter sounds really interesting but it’s gotten really low reviews on Goodreads, so I’m curious how I will like it.
Then I went and looked at the library books. I haven’t done this since before Covid (I’m pretty sure) and I ended up deciding to check out 3 books….more books on top of books and I already have so many on my TBR that I’ve bought recently, so I was wondering how am I going to fit these in, I will have to have one library book at a time on top of what I’m already reading.
I recently finished The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, and really enjoyed it, gave it 5 stars. So one of the library books I picked was by them, The Wife Between Us. The other 2 books are The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware, a thriller I’ve been meaning to read, and Night Of The Mannequins by Stephen Graham Jones, a horror novella I’ve been meaning to read. I’m reading that one first since it’s short (and horror!) and then the Ruth Ware book and then the Wife Between Us.
When I finished The Golden Couple I didn’t immediately move to Dream Girl by Laura Lippman, which is the random book my boyfriend and I picked together, I decided to finish reading The Visitation by Frank Peretti first. After Dream Girl I plan to read one of my BOTM thrillers, Breathless by Amy McCulloch, and then another random pick.
The thriller I am reading on my kindle, Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier, is really good! It’s at least a 4 star read and it could end up being 5 stars.
I want to read a random kindle book after that one, then read the Canada book, then another random one, and then this book I bought recently called The Solace of Open Spaces.
We went to Bimart too today and I stocked up on some stuff, and it was just so fun to get out in a car. Then it was thunderstorming, a great backdrop for reading my books!

Oh…PS I forgot to write that I went almost a week without internet! Not something I want to go through again anytime soon! Had trouble with delivery of the new modem I needed, then it wouldn’t work, then got some help but not enough, then a technician was assigned to me but NOT assigned to me, never showed up, and then finally a woman on the phone did something on her end and my new modem was working. (missed several days of work) I went to the library one night I was missing checking emails and looking at book sales and doing my Cross Stitch World. All my TV is on the internet, so tomorrow my boyfriend and I look forward to watching MrBallen on YT and How To Get Away With Murder on Netflix.
